How do I get to Wanaka?

Christchurch is the main international airport of the South Island. The driving time from Christchurch to Wanaka is 6 and a half hours. If travelling from Australia consider flying into Dunedin. Dunedin to Wanaka by car takes around 4hours 10mins. Learn about Dunedin

Queenstown is the next closest airport with flights from Sydney and Brisbane. Fly to Queenstown and either hire a car at the airport or use one of the local shuttle bus/coach services to get to Wanaka.

Puzzling World in Wanaka

“The Great Maze” is the first of the world’s “modern-style” great mazes. It is two storeys high and has 1.5 kilometres of confusing passages. “Puzzling World” is full of eccentric shaped buildings and puzzling rooms. Some are world unique and the others could be world best!

Warbirds over Wanaka Book Released by Ian Brodie

Warbirds over Wanaka is the official book of the airshow 2004. The book is a photographic record of the show and has become a collectable item among aviation fans and visitors to the show.

In 2004 nearly 80,000 people visited the airshow and saw some amazing sights, including aircraft from the renowned Breitling Collection based in the USA, some fine old friends such as the Spitfire and the Polikarpov aircraft, and, attracting a new generation of admirers, a collection of jets from the 1960s.
