Hawea is naturally beautiful. For those people lucky enough
to own a home here, they awake to a majestic feast of snow
capped mountains reflected in a crystal clear lake.
If you fancy a spot of fishing, then this is the place for
you. If your keen to spend some time here then be ready to
leave your worries behind. Hawea is the kind of place that
has that "time has stopped feeling". You definitely
want to turn your cell phone off and sit and relax, enjoy
time with good friends, or the love of your life.
Peter McGurks workshop is just 15mins drive
from Wanaka in the beautiful lakeside town of Hawea. When
you visit the workshop you get to observe Peter and the creation
of gift items made from natural New Zealand timber and oils.
If your thinking of making a trip to the workshop it is open
most days from September until May. You will find it at 171
